MINI LIFTS

A “Mini Lift” is a term that describes a modified mini facelift. Dr. Virden has developed a minimally invasive facelift technique that he terms “The Mini Lift”. This procedure is appropriate for the patient who has jowling and early neck aging. This occurs in patients in their mid forties through their fifties. This procedure requires much less dissection and down time than a traditional facelift.

Just like a traditional facelift, this procedure requires a considerable amount of artistry to insure that not only is the result natural appearing, but also long lasting. Even though the recovery is faster and the incisions are shorter than a standard facelift, the principles remain the same. The tension is put on the deeper SMAS (Superficial Musculo Aponeurotic System) and not on the skin. An artists approach to the face is paramount. This procedure can be performed in most patients under local anesthesia and the total operative time is under two hours. Generally, people can be back at work within 4-5 days. Although a Mini Lift is a surgical procedure, the incisions are well hidden and become quite inconspicuous. A Petit Lift can be performed alone; however, it is often performed in conjunction with other procedures.
